The last place I ordered gold gaskets from was Vacumed, Ventura CA,
1-800-235-3333 several years ago.
You can make them yourself but for UHV applications you need to fuse the
gold wire and then anneal it carefully.
For stepped flanges getting the size right is critical and you need to make
the gasket slightly smaller than required and then stretch it very gently
into place.
For flanges with no step for the gasket, i.e. those with a large smooth
flat surface, I have used pure aluminum wire (annealed) and just carefully
laid the ends over each other. When the gasket crushes the wire, the wire
welds to itself forming a seal at the join, hopefully.
Good luck.
