Dear Stuart
Did you check the impedance (using electrometer - it must be > 10E10 ohms) of the
focus plate to possible fugue?
This resistor in question is only to limit the maximum current of the high voltage power
supply. The resistor you replaced (5W-20KV) is correct to use in this case.
We use thermoleak to both - Hidrogenio and Helio - in the ion source without problems.
