SNEAPers,

I posted in January a request for help in repairing/replacing our GVM. I am a little late on the follow-up, but thanks for the great advice from everyone who responded! And especially thanks to David O'Brien, who graciously answered my questions on the telephone and immediately supplied a virgin Rotron motor at cost.

Rotron still makes these motors, but only on special order and at a price we didn't want to pay. As it turned out, I was able to get our original motor re-wound at a local motor repair shop. This saved a lot of time because we didn't have to machine the new motor housing to fit into the GVM weldment. We now have everything back together, the tank re-filled with recovered SF6, and the accelerator pumping out ions again.
