[Sneap] Pelletron chain oil reccommendations

The gentleman who runs our EN tandem tells me that when the pelletron chains were first installed the operators were instructed to wipe down the pellets with a rag soaked in roughing pump oil. This would increase the amount of charge the chain carried but the charge would settle down to a constant value when the oil wore off (our machine does not have oiler pads). He tells me that we get plenty of charge carried by the dry chain, and he hasn't done the oil trick in decades.

Subject: [Sneap] Pelletron chain oil reccommendations

The host for the 2008 SNEAP annual meeting is the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. The meeting dates are: October: 12 - 17, 2008.
The meeting web link is: http://www-ners.engin.umich.edu/research/Mibl/Sneap/2008.htm

All,

All lore fades with time: lore about the oil for the chain oiler pads for the UW-Madison pelletron has faded. Can anyone reccommend a suitable one?

Thanks in advance for any info,
-Paul Voytas
