Fred,
If you are able to check the proceedings from last years SNEAP (2008),
Howard Evans (ECU) gave a very interesting talk about having a GVM motor
rewound.

Subject: [Sneap] Generating Voltmeter Motor for KS-4000 VDG
SNEAPer's:
We are looking for a replacement GVM motor for our HVEC KS-4000 Van de
Graaff. The original manufacturer no longer exists, and the horsepower and
RPM ratings we are finding difficult to match. I believe the original HVEC
part number is A-4198. The motor details are: Howard Industries, 115 VAC,
1/20 HP, 3600 RPM. Does anyone know of possible sources for compatible
motors, or is there possibly one out there that is no longer needed? Any
assistance would be appreciated.
Regards,
Fred Bateman
