[Sneap] Vacuum stepper motors

Alistair Emrick is away for the moment but I can reply in his place.
We have a problem with the controller cards (the ones that are one for each
motor) dying on us. I think we can get them repaired here in France, but
they are apparently obsolete. We dont know what is killing them from time
to time, but we DO have some nasty mains power supply issues since the
entire University is a huge building site at present due to renovations so
there are outages (bulldozer cut main supply cable, for example) and spikes.
However these cards have always been a bit of a problem for us maybe we
just use them badly
The main problem is the motors themselves which are no longer supplied. We
have one that has a shorted coil and another that mostly vibrates rather
than turns. They have done around 15 years (or more
) of service so we
cant complain but we do need to replace them.
It looks as though we have found a supply of second hand motors that should
keep us in business until we can re-design the stage to accommodate
available modern steppers.
Many thanks for your time
Ian V.

A quick search on Google and I found this second hand controller.

What sort of issues are you having with the controller and the motors?
Regards
Alistair

Dear sneapers,
We have a motion controller MM4006 from Newport which pilots some vacuum
stepper motors (10-7 mbar). We are having some problems with the electronic
part of the controller and with the motors themselves
Does anyone know
where we could find second-hand motors? Do you know of any companies which
sell them?
Many thanks in advance.
